Psychotherapy

I offer short-term (6-12 sessions) and long-term psychotherapy (12+ sessions) to individuals and couples. In our initial meeting, we will go over the intake paperwork you filled out prior to the session. This process will give me a sense of who you are, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to accomplish. Based on the information I gather, I will share with you how I think therapy could be helpful to you and what the course of your therapy would look like short-term and long-term. You can then decide whether and how you would like to participate in therapy. If you would like to continue and would like to work with me, we will schedule the next session.

I incorporate a variety of approaches and interventions based on your preferred style. I do not have a “cookie-cutter” approach so the more I get to know your concerns and your preference, the better I can assist you. Some of the issues I have helped my clients address include:

  • anxiety
  • attention problems
  • depression
  • eating problems
  • sleep problems
  • body image
  • self-esteem
  • stress management
  • couples issues
  • relationship issues
  • parenting issues
  • interracial adoption
  • cross-cultural differences
  • gender and racial dynamics at school or work
  • sexual orientation
  • terminal illness
  • grief and loss
  • trauma and abuse

For various reasons, you may decide that you would like to work with someone else after our first meeting. Should that be the case, I would be happy to assist with a referral.
